In 1999, GL, GLS, and GLX trims became options, as did a 1.8-liter gas engine. The 2001 model year brought a Sport trim with it, followed by a Turbo S trim in 2002 and a GLS TDI trim in 2005. 2006 offered 2.5 and TDI trims, and the former incorporated a 2.5-liter, five-cylinder engine. In 2008, you could get either an S or an SE trim.

Skip ahead to 2012, when base and Turbo trims would become available, and you could choose among turbocharged engines and five- or six-speed manual, six-speed automatic, or six-speed dual-clutch (DCT) transmissions. Features that year included alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, Fender premium audio, and a rear spoiler. You could even get pedal covers made of brushed aluminum.

Its final year, the model was available in S, SE, Final Edition SE, and Final Edition SEL trims, and features ranged widely. You could get a 5-inch infotainment touchscreen, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, and keyless ignition, not to mention bi-Xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights and taillights.
