VW cars and SUVs use either conventional, beam, or hybrid windshield wiper blades. Types of Wiper Blades

Conventional wiper blades: the most common kind on the road, made of either rubber or silicone and with metal frames. Most VW vehicles have and use these. They provide fair durability and get replaced about every six months.
Beam wiper blades: made of solid rubber and designed to conform much more closely to windshield contours. They generally last longer than conventional.
Hybrid wiper blades are similar to beam blades but have rubber-coated metal frames. They're more versatile and weather-resistant.

Types of Wiper Blade Connectors

Hook connectors: U-shaped. They wrap around the rounded ends of wiper arms and rotate around them.
Clamp connectors: openings that the wiper arms insert into. They fasten on the sides to keep the blades in place.
Pin connectors: horizontal holes the pins on wiper arms go through; the blades are held in place this way.
